Tuesday, August 9 - We left Chamonix after another big breakfast and headed to Geneva. We drove around and finally found the tourist office. They helped us make a reservation for that night at the Hotel Ambassador. We stayed there the last time we were in Geneva, 36 years ago. It is the infamous site of the Garage that tore the ski rack off the Volkswagen. If you haven't heard the story, consider yourself lucky. We wont bother repeating it here.

Wednesday - August 10 - We got up very early to get to the airport. Arrived in plenty of time and went to the Avis counter in the Swiss sector - oooppppsss. Had to then find the French sector and the Avis counter there. Did and dropped the car off. No problem. The airplane boarded on time for our 9:40am flight and left the gate on time. There was some equipment malfunction and the plane was brought back to the gate for 3 hours while the mechanics did their thing. Uneventful flight after that - but of course it was 3 hours late. Ugh.
